Water meters

Having a water meter means that we can measure the exact amount of water you use, instead of being charged on your properties ‘rateable value’. Depending on how much water you use and the number of people in your property having a meter could save you money on your water bills.

In order to give you an idea of what an average bill looks like if you’re on a meter, we’ve had a look at our metered customers’ average bills.

We know that water meters aren’t right for everyone but having a water meter installed in your home could significantly reduce your bill. If you’re considering a meter we offer a switch back service that gives you extra peace of mind. If you decide a meter isn’t right for you then you can switch back within two years of having the meter installed and go back to receiving bills based on your property.

We all use different amounts of water based on our needs. If you’d like to check to see if you’re likely to make a saving and if a water meter is right for you, use the water calculator to calculate your usage.
