Signs that you might have a leak...
Damp patches
These could be dark or discoloured spots on walls, ceilings, or floors.
High bills
If your bill is higher than normal, this could be down to a hidden leak.
Mould
Fungal growth or a musty smell in rooms that are not normally damp.
Warped floors
Wood or laminate flooring that feels soft, buckles, or looks uneven.
Drips
Hearing a drip or the sound of running water when all taps and appliances are off.
Low pressure
A weak stream of water from your taps or shower indicates low water pressure.
Dial movement
The low-flow indicator dial on your water meter turns while you use no water.
Peeling paint
Paint or wallpaper that bubbles, cracks, or peels away from the surface.
Checking for leaks
Check your toilet
- Place a dry piece of toilet paper at the back of your toilet pan
- Leave it for 5-10 minutes.
- If the paper is wet or torn, you have a leak.
Check for incidents
Sometimes what seems like it could be a leak is caused by a wider issue, like works being carried out in your area or a leak on our pipework.
