Is there a hosepipe ban?

No, hosepipe restrictions are not in place.

Reservoir

We’re in a strong position across Yorkshire, with water resources healthier than this time last year.

Our reservoir levels are higher than they were this time last year, with groundwater and river levels also in a healthy position.

What does this mean?

Right now, there’s no need for restrictions, and there are no concerns about water supply.

We always encourage everyone to use water wisely, whatever the weather – especially during warmer, drier periods. Warmer weather can increase how much water we use, so we’re continuing to keep a close eye on the situation and planning ahead.

How you can help

Although there are no restrictions, small changes can make a big difference - especially during periods with less rain.

Here are some simple ways to save water:
•    Use a watering can instead of a hose where you can
•    Water your garden in the morning or evening to reduce evaporation
•    Avoid using water unnecessarily
•    Reuse water where you can

Every little bit helps protect supplies and keep Yorkshire in a strong position.

Thank you

We really appreciate the efforts customers are already making to save water. By continuing to use water wisely, you’re helping to protect our environment and keep supplies flowing for everyone.
