£2.9m mains upgrade starts soon at Dalton Holme and Lund

Yorkshire Water is due to begin a £2.9m scheme to upgrade the clean water network in Dalton Holme and Lund, delivering a resilient and reliable supply for customers in the area.

The scheme will replace over 8.6km of clean water pipes and will reduce the likelihood of future bursts, low pressure or loss of supply in the East Riding villages.

Contract partners, M Group, will start on site on Monday 17 August and the utility is contacting local residents and businesses to notify them of the traffic management that will be in place to keep everyone safe during this important upgrade.

Jason Farrar, project manager at Yorkshire Water, said: "This mains replacement work is part of our largest ever investment programme of £8.3bn to strengthen infrastructure, improve resilience and provide better service for our customers.

“The existing clean water mains will be replaced with a more robust and resilient network that will lower the risk of bursts and supply interruptions and help save water, in the future.  We’ve worked with local highways to keep disruption to a minimum.

Both projects should take approximately 8 months to complete.
