Yorkshire Water to begin upgrade work at Rivadale CSO

Yorkshire Water is set to begin upgrading the combined sewer overflow (CSO) at Rivadale, Ilkley as it continues its commitment to improving the river Wharfe.

Work to upgrade the CSO and fit a mechanical screen will start on 11 October and is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

Yorkshire Water is working with stakeholders to develop plans for further enhancements to the sewer network in the area.

Yorkshire Water’s Leah Humphries said: “The upgrade of the CSO at Rivadale will assist in our aims to improve water quality within area.

“We are continuing to work on plans for the next phase of sewer upgrades in Ilkley and are exploring a variety of options that will deliver a range of improvements and value for money for our customers.”
