Yorkshire Water to lay 4km of new clean water mains in Hawes.

The water company is investing over one million pounds in the area, as part of ongoing work to strengthen the existing network and protect the water supply of the future.

Yorkshire Water, who delayed the work in order to accommodate peak tourism and business periods, will lay more than 4,230m of pipes in order to improve resilience in the water network.

The work will be carried out in stages to minimise disruption as much as possible, and is due to be completed by Spring 2022.

Mark Allsop, customer liaison advisor at Yorkshire Water, said: “We’ve worked closely with North Yorkshire County Council’s Highways team to plan the work in Hawes, and will carry it out in three stages to avoid as much disruption as possible.

We’d like to thank our customers in advance for their patience.”
