Yorkshire Water invests £1.9m to replace water mains in Bainton
11/5/2026
Yorkshire Water is investing £1.9m to replace 4.2km of water mains in Bainton and Tibthorpe, nr Bridlington, to provide a resilient and robust clean water network in the area.
Our contract partner, M Group, started the mains upgrade at Bainton Road, Tibthorpe where there have been a number of bursts over the last five years. Replacing and upgrading the ageing pipework will help to reduce the likelihood of future bursts, leaks and interruptions to customers’ water supplies.
Jason Farrar, project manager at Yorkshire Water, said: “This is an important upgrade to the local clean water network and should provide a better, more reliable service for our customers in the area.
“Replacing over 4.2km of pipework will help us reduce the risk of further bursts and supply interruptions in the future and we have been working with local highways to ensure that we keep disruption to a minimum.
This upgrade is part of Yorkshire Water’s £406m investment to replace more than 1,000km of clean water mains across the region between 2025 and 2030, providing a robust and reliable network and helping to reduce supply interruptions, leaks and bursts.
Yorkshire Water is contacting local residents to keep them informed of its progress.
