The world is changing and so are we. Yorkshire's population is growing fast, with an extra 855,000 people predicted to live in the region within the next 25 years. The climate is changing too, with predictions that the average temperature could rise by 3.6°C by the 2050s. These changes will stretch the region's natural water sources over the decades to come.
To help deal with all these changes, we've created a new plan - our Blueprint for Yorkshire. Discover what this plan means to you and how you can get involved.
We manage the collection, treatment and distribution of water in Yorkshire, supplying around 1.24 billion litres of drinking water each day - that's a lot of water.
At the same time we also collect, treat and dispose of about one billion litres of waste water safely back into the environment.
To do this we operate more than 700 water and sewage treatment works and 120 reservoirs. We look after 62,000 miles of water and sewerage mains - enough pipework to circulate the earth!
Our job is to keep the pipes in good working order and continually improve them. We're currently spending around £750 per household to maintain and upgrade our pipes and works to reduce the risk of bursts, low water pressure, incidents of discolouration, sewer flooding and odour problems - click here to read about our investment plan.

Every year we run a water conservation campaign encouraging customers (and ourselves!) to save as much water as possible. We've tried to make it as easy as possible to help you become super water efficient. Whether you're wanting to learn some new tips on how you can save water around the house or want to find out whether you'd be better off on a water meter - we've got all the information you need!

We’re giving away thousands of water saving packs to help our customers save water in their homes.
• Flushsaver - Saves 1.2 litres everytime you flush, that's around 5,000 litres a year.
• Showersave - Regulate your shower to just 8 litres of hot water a minute.
• Tap Inserts - Reduce the flow of water from your taps by up to 70%.
• Shower Timer - Spend 1 minute less in the shower and save up to £100 a year.
