Yorkshire Water sponsored DalesBus adds an extra culture stop for BD25

7/3/2025
Bradford Interchange has been added as an extra stop to the usual route of the Nidderdale DalesBus service to support BD25.
The new pick up and drop off stop will help some of the 5 million extra visitors predicted to visit Bradford, as part of the UK City of Culture, to explore other areas of Yorkshire during their stay.
The buses run from Bradford Interchange (DalesBus 820) and Keighley/Bingley (DalesBus 821) via Shipley, White Cross, Menston and Otley into the Washburn Valley and Nidderdale National Landscape every summer Sunday and Bank Holiday thanks to support from Yorkshire Water’s Beyond Nature project.
The new stops in Bradford and Manningham mean visitors to the UK City of Culture and local residents can enjoy the service to visit places such as Otley, Fewston village and reservoir, Pateley Bridge, and the stunning views of Washburn and Upper Nidderdale valley.
Lisa Harrowsmith, land & property lead surveyor, for Yorkshire Water said: “Yorkshire Water and Beyond Nature is pleased to continue its sponsorship of the DalesBus Nidderdale service which provides an important link to some of the beautiful attractions of the Washburn Valley and Upper Nidderdale areas.
“The extra stop at Bradford interchange means that visitors to the City of Culture can enjoy a car-free trip to enjoy some of our reservoirs that provide important habitats for wildlife and are popular places for walking.
“Scar House Reservoir sits in the Nidderdale National Landscape and is home to a wide range of birds like Curlew, Black Grouse and Hen Harriers, and the DalesBus provides a sustainable way to travel to and from our beautiful reservoirs.
“We’re always pleased to see people enjoying our stunning reservoirs and ask that visitors follow the Countryside Code, by taking their litter home, keep dogs on leads and be mindful of other visitors so that our reservoirs are enjoyable for all.”
All single fares on these services are capped at just £3 (£1 for under 19s) as part of a national initiative, with free travel for concessionary pass holders.
Full details are available online at www.dalesbus.org/821 and in timetable booklets available locally. These also include details of DalesBus 864 from Bradford to Ilkley, Skipton and Malham, which also runs every Sunday and Bank Holiday.

Yorkshire Water is also proud to support Wild Uplands as part of Bradford 2025. The artwork in this extraordinary, large-scale, open-air gallery, is inspired by the natural world surrounding their temporary home on the wild and windy moors.
The Wild Uplands sculpture trail is in the beautiful setting of Penistone Hill Country Park, Haworth. The Dimples Lane entrance is approximately 10 minutes’ walk from the centre of Haworth, which is served by the Bronte Bus service from Keighley up to every 20 minutes.
