We’re spending £5.15million to replace over 6km of clean water pipes in Kiveton Park and Wales. These pipes are old and prone to bursting - replacing them now will reduce the risk of this happening in future; helping to save water and reduce disruption to you.

What we're doing

In May 2025 work began on a predicted 12-month programme to replace over 6km of clean water mains. This includes:

  • £2,818,750 investment to replace 3202m of clean water mains on Wales Road and Walesmoor Avenue, Kiveton Park
  • £2,062,275 investment to replace 2546m of clean water mains on Station Road
  • £259,953 investment to replace 378m of clean water mains on Mansfield Road

We’re working on:

  • the whole of Wales Road
  • Station Road (between Church Lane and Hard Lane)
  • the whole of Walesmoor Avenue.

The sections we’re replacing are shown on the plan below in red:

Latest project updates

July 2025

In May 2025 work began on Walesmoor Avenue and is progressing well; we’re hoping to have finished on here by 14th July.

Wales Road

From 14th July work will begin on the first 100m section of work on Wales Road, starting at the junction of Church Street and finishing just before Lodge Hill Drive. This section will take around 6 weeks to complete.

To keep everyone safe we’ll be using temporary traffic lights around our working area, these will move with our work as it progresses and will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, 7 days a week to help keep traffic flowing.

August 2025

The team have installed over 1300m of new water main so far on the project.

During week commencing 25th August the team will move onto the next 100m section of work from Old Coach Road to just passed the first junction of Walesmoor Avenue, this section should take around 5 weeks to complete.

To keep everyone safe we’ll continue to use temporary traffic lights around our working area, these will be manually controlled between 7am and 7pm, 7 days a week.  We’ll also be closing the first junction of Walesmoor Avenue as we pass it, this will help to keep traffic flowing as we’ll not need to use an additional traffic light on here.

Vehicle access will be maintained for Walesmoor Avenue via Lestermoor Avenue and the second Walesmoor Avenue junction.
