What's happening?
Some customers in Sheffield and Rotherham (S8, S13, S25, S26, S66, S80, S81 and some surrounding areas) have experienced low pressure or temporary loss of supply, which was caused by a power outage at a nearby pumping station.
Power is now back up and running and water supplies have now been restored.
We're really sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. Please see below for updates on the situation.
Latest update: 8:45pm 1st March 2026
All customers now have water supply.
Power has returned to site, and our network is slowly refilling. While everything is getting back to normal, some customers may notice intermittent low pressure or discolouration to their water supply.
Discolouration can occur when natural sediment within the network is disturbed – for example, when a network recharges. It is not harmful, and customers can run their taps to clear it. We are also flushing in the area this morning, to help clear the network as quickly as possible.
See here for information on discoloured water.
As water supplies have now been restored, bottled water distribution points will be demobilised and the sites will be cleaned up.
Compensation for this incident will be considered on a case by case basis and in line with our customer charter. We'll speak to customers impacted about compensation and how to claim once our immediate operational response is stood down.
Thank you for your patience. We will continue to update this webpage with updates as and when we have them.
