Why should I dispose at a Yorkshire Water site?

  • Disposing at Yorkshire Water gives you peace of mind that disposal is legally compliant and cost effective.
  • We dispose of liquid waste in an environmentally sustainable and safe manner.
  • Yorkshire Water is a member of the Biosolids Assurance Scheme (BAS) and we make sure the environment is protected when recycling biosolids.
  • We have liquid waste discharge sites across the county, so there's bound to be one near you! This reduces the mileage your tanker has to travel and lowers your transport costs.
  • We have a very competitive gate fee for our trade customers, starting at just £7.59 per m3 (depending on the strength of the waste).
  • All our sites have loggers which measure the exact volume of liquid waste discharged. Our loggers are serviced and maintained regularly to ensure accuracy and guarantee our customers are never overcharged.

Domestic waste

We provide disposal outlets around the county for domestic waste.

We will accept any domestic type effluents including septic tanks, cesspool waste and chemical toilet waste.

Commercial Waste

We also provide disposal outlets for trade and industrial wastes which can't be discharged to sewer.

We can treat many industrial liquid wastes and effluents, including:

  • leachates
  • strong organic wastes
  • liquid waste from food manufacturing
  • ground and surface water
  • contaminated waters
  • boiler-related effluents
  • high COD wastes
  • chemical wastes
  • pharmaceutical wastes.

Our prices for commercial wastes are based on the MOGDEN formula, with a current minimum charge of £7.59 per m3.

Trade waste application process

To start the process you'll need to fill out an application form. This information will tell us how the waste is generated, what the waste may contain and which tests we need to do on it.

When you've completed the form, send it to us at tankeredwaste@yorkshirewater.co.uk. Once we've got it, our Business Development Manager will be in touch to continue the process and arrange collection of a sample.

When we've tested the waste, we can give you a disposal price and organise the paperwork to start imports.
