Clear away the post-Christmas cobwebs with a Winter Walk at Scammonden Reservoir
Yorkshire Water rangers are providing the perfect way to blow away the cobwebs and the post- Christmas fug with a wonderful winter walk at Scammonden Reservoir on Tuesday 30 December.
The winter walk at Scammonden, adjacent to the M62 Nr Huddersfield, starts from 10am and can be done at leisure throughout the day until 4pm.

Following a bracing walk, lots of fresh air and a chat with the Yorkshire Water engagement team, visitors can wind-up their walk with a free mince pie, before safely making their way home.

Always remember safety first when visiting our reservoirs. They may look calm and tempting for a swim, but it’s important not to take the risk entering any open body of water. Reservoirs can pose a risk to life through cold water shock, operational equipment under the water, sudden drops, hidden currents and other new dangers.
Yorkshire Water’s ranger teams continue to engage with reservoir visitors on water safety, providing information about the sites and encouraging people to follow the Countryside Code. Visitors should call 999 if they see someone in trouble in the water and there's a risk to life - Fire Service crews are trained and equipped to deal with such incidents.
