Yorkshire Water will begin work on installing a new clean water pipe in Lee Lane, Royston.

The company will be on site from Monday (February 10th) to start on the £400,000 project to replace the old pipe which was prone to bursting.

Yorkshire Water will work quickly to ensure as little disruption as possible, however for health and safety reasons Lee Lane will need to be closed to through traffic from the junction with Wakefield Road to the access road for the new development.

Diversion routes will be fully signposted and are stipulated by Barnsley Highways department to accommodate all vehicle types.

Yorkshire Water Community Engagement Advisor, Vicky Scroggins said: “This is a vital project that will have a real impact on reducing bursts and maintaining water supplies.”

“We would like to thank residents for their patience in advance and let people know that local businesses will remain open during the work.”
