We've teamed up with Hey Girls, a multi-award winning social enterprise, breaking records, boundaries and bias when it comes to period equality. They're working to ensure that everyone has access to sustainable period products and inclusive education - for free!
We'd love to visit your school to speak with your female students and provide each of them with their own free pack of reusable and sustainable period products, worth £40. But we don't just want to increase access to these products, we want to increase knowledge and awareness too - about periods, yes, but also about the environmental impact and the benefits reusable and sustainable products can have for the environment and our bodies.
What we're proposing is to come into your school for a full day, running a number of sessions with different year groups, perhaps at a time when they're timetabled for PE. We'll take them through a presentation before giving them their free packs, with an assortment of products and information. They'll then have chance to chat with us and ask questions.
The workshops are aimed at Year 7 to 11 students and are approximately one hour in length, delivered by members of our Education team, in a supportive environment. The sessions work best with smaller groups (max. 30) and full days, or multiple days, can be accommodated to reach full year groups.
If you’re interested in us visiting your school for the day, please email education@yorkshirewater.co.uk and we'll be in touch to arrange a suitable date.
