Are you using more than you need?

online calculatorEach day in Yorkshire we use 1.3 billion litres of fresh tap water - that's around 550 Olympic sized swimming pools. What's more, around 26% of all household water goes straight down the plughole. Despite the recent rainfall, we have experienced the driest 18 month period on record and with the UK weather becoming increasingly volatile it's important that we are all doing our bit to conserve supplies.

Saving water around the house is a lot easier than you might think and with our online calculator you can see just how much water you use around the house and where there might be opportunities for you to conume less.

The average person uses 150 litres a day, so why not take the challenge and see if you can do better?

  • Brush your teeth twice a day using a fluoride toothpaste

Of course brushing your teeth doesn't have to involve consuming lots of water. Just the simple action of turning off the tap whilst you're brushing can save 6 litres !!
