We feel that if we have been successful in choosing the right people for the right roles, and if people feel rewarded and valued in their roles then this will reflect in our employee retention rates. In 2012/2013 we have employed 193 people within Yorkshire Water, 182 (94%) of which remain in employment. This is shown in Figure T9. We have no zero hour contracts within the company. Our human rights policy will also be coming online in the next few months.
Individuals are given real responsibility in the roles that they perform, empowered to use their own initiative, make decisions and generate new ideas. Flexibility and teamwork are also key in delivering our operational activities
