Whilst our operational colleagues are working to fix the pipe and reopen the road as quickly as possible, our customer support colleagues are still on hand to assist with any claims or ongoing issues related to the burst water pipe by calling 0345 1 24 24 24.

Latest update - 1.45pm 18 January 2023
After the burst water pipe on Monday, there was some temporary disruption to water supply. That impact is resolved, we’ve been taking samples in the area and the water supply meets our usual high standards.
11.30am 18 January 2023
With the support of our partner, Service Master, we are visiting our customers in Southey who may have been affected to understand any damage to their property or belongings and we are supporting them with the claims process where needed. We’re also carrying out gas and electricity safety checks.
Our colleagues are going door to door to offer support to customers – if customers missed our visit or haven’t managed to speak to one of our team, we have a customer hub on Moonshine Lane or we’d encourage them to contact us on 0345 1 24 24 24.
We’ll be working closely with each customer to understand the impact of this incident.
11.20am 17 January 2023
We have been visiting vulnerable customers that have been impacted by flooding in Southey Green, and have a customer hub on Moonshine Lane, where our colleagues are supporting customers. We’re also working closely with Sheffield City Council and our partners, Service Master, to clear away debris and damage caused by yesterday’s burst water main.
Moonshine Lane is closed to cars whilst we work to repair the burst pipe. There are lots of utilities in the area, so we’re working closely with them to make sure the repair can be done as safely and quickly as possible.
Some customers may notice some discolouration to their water supply as a result of the burst – our teams are out flushing the system today.

Our colleagues are on site speaking with customers in S5. We have been going door to door to offer support to those impacted - but if you were out at the time or haven't had a visit and you have been impacted by flooding related to this burst, then please get in touch on 0345 1 24 24 24.
3pm 16 January 2023
The impact of the burst has caused discoloured water to some properties in Sheffield. Our colleagues are working to flush the mains and clear the discolouration as soon as possible.
12.30pm 16 January 2023
Our operational team have made changes to our network, so that customers’ water supply should now be back on or be coming back on shortly. We've turned off the section of pipe that's burst so flood water in the area is subsiding. Our partner, Service Master, is there helping to resolve any issues caused by flooding.

We’re working with Sheffield City Council, South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue and South Yorkshire Police to support those customers and we’re on the ground working as quickly as possible to fix the issue.

We're aware of a burst in S5 - we're on site investigating the issue. Customers may be experiencing no water or low pressure.
