Full Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions prevail in the event of any conflict or inconsistency with any other communications, including advertising or promotional materials. Entry/claim instructions are deemed to form part of the terms and conditions and by participating all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the terms and conditions. Please retain a copy for your information.

Promoter: Yorkshire Water, Yorkshire Water, Western House, Buttershaw, Bradford, BD6 2SZ

  1. Entrants must be aged 18 or over, residents of Yorkshire and customers of Yorkshire Water and pay their water and sewerage bill to Yorkshire Water.
  2. To participate in the fun room challenge, you will be required to read and agree to the terms and conditions provided by Yorkshire Water who are the owners of the challenge by signing a waiver and providing your full name, date of birth, email address and contact telephone number. You will also be asked to comply with all rules and regulations set out by Yorkshire Water which will be provided to you at the event before you participate.
  3. You can attempt the challenge in teams of up to four, the minimum number of people per team is two.
  4. Participants can attempt the challenge once only and may not join multiple teams for multiple events or take part at more than one location.
  5. The 'Unblock Against the Clock' challenge is a fun room where you will be required to solve the clues and find as many items as you can as quickly as possible. You will have a maximum time limit to find all items. The total number of items to find and the time limit will be provided to you at the event before you participate.
  6. The individual or team with the most correct items collected in the shortest time out of all entrants from each location will be deemed the winner. There will be one winner and one runner up per location.
  7. Entry to this challenge is free. For the chance to win, entrants must attend one of the four locations on the dates detailed below:

    1. Bradford: Saturday 3rd August 2019 between 09:00 and 17:00 & Sunday 4th August 2019 between 09:00 and 16:00
    2. Huddersfield: Saturday 17th August 2019 between 09:00 and 17:00 & Sunday 18th August 2019 between 09:00 and 16:00
    3. Wakefield: Saturday 24th August 2019 between 09:00 and 17:00 & Sunday 25th August 2019 between 09:00 and 16:00
    4. Sheffield: Saturday 31st August 2019 between 09:00 and 17:00 & Sunday 1st September 2019 between 09:00 and 16:00
  8. Participants can reserve their team place prior to playing, but only at the event on the event day. Participants must be present and on time in order to be selected before each competition round.
  9. Participants will be selected by the organiser to play based on the availability at the location. The Promoter cannot guarantee that everyone that attends will be able to play. The time cut-off for play on a Saturday is 4:50pm and for a Sunday, it is 3:50pm. So, anyone joining the queue after these cut-off times will not be able to participate.
  10. Winners will be contacted via email and/or telephone to the email address and/or contact number provided upon registration within 5 working days of the close of each location. The winner of the grand prize will be contacted within 5 working days after the close of the final location.
  11. By participating in this challenge, each entrant acknowledges that if he or she is a winner his or her surname and county may be disclosed to persons enquiring about winners, where permitted by law. Any entrant may object to their information being made available in this way, or may request that the amount of information made available be reduced by contacting the Promoter. In these circumstances the entrant acknowledge that the Promoter may nevertheless disclose such information in full to the Advertising Standards Authority if required to do so.
  12. The name of the winner/s will be published on the Promoter’s website at www.yorkshirewater.com/unblock within 5 days of the close date of each location.

    5. Grand Prize:
      There will also be 1 x Grand prize. This will be the individual or team with the most correct items collected in the shortest time from all 4 locations. The individual or team will win a kitchen or bathroom worth £8,000 in the form of cash which can be spent at Wren Kitchens or Victoria Plum. Should the winner’s kitchen or bathroom spend exceed £8,000 it is your responsibility to cover the remaining costs.
  14. Should any prize be won by a team then the prize shall be shared equally by all team members.
  15. All prize winners may be asked to verify their address to ensure that they are Yorkshire Water customers.
  16. The prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and no cash alternative will be offered.
  17. It is the glamping break winner’s responsibility to organise and pay for all other expenses including (without limitation) travel, all food and beverages, spending money, telephone calls, personal items, merchandise and souvenirs, incidental costs and any other costs, charges, taxes and expenses which may be incurred by the winner in using the prize and which have not been set out in these terms.
  18. In the event of unforeseen circumstances, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize for an alternative of equal or greater value. No correspondence will be entered into. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the Promoter is final.
  19. The promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by or associated with Wren Kitchens or Victoria Plum or Feather Down.
  20. DATA PROTECTION. By participating in this challenge, all entrants will be deemed to have accepted and be bound by the rules and consent to the transfer of their personal data to the Promoter’s partners for the purposes of the administration of this promotion and any other purposes to which the entrant has consented. Your personal details will at all times be kept confidential and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation ((EU) 2016/679) (GDPR) and any national implementing laws, regulations and secondary legislation to the GDPR or the Data Protection Act 2018.
  21. The winners may be required to participate in reasonable publicity arising from this promotion without payment or compensation.
  22. In the event of circumstances outside the reasonable control of the Promoter, or otherwise where fraud, abuse and/or an error (human or computer) affects or could affect the proper operation of this promotion or the awarding of prizes, and only where circumstances make this unavoidable, the Promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the promotion or these terms and conditions, at any stage, but will always endeavour to minimise the effect to participants in order to avoid undue disappointment.
  23. The Promoter shall not be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. Such circumstances shall include, but not be limited to, weather conditions, fire, flood, hurricane, strike, industrial dispute, war, hostilities, political unrest, riots, civil commotion, inevitable accidents, supervening legislation or any other circumstances amounting to force majeure.
  24. These terms and conditions and any issues or disputes which may arise out of or in connection with these terms and conditions (whether such disputes or issues are contractual or non-contractual in nature, such as claims in tort, for breach of statute or regulation or otherwise) shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English and Welsh law. Participants hereby irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts to settle any such dispute or issues unless you live in another part of the UK, in which case your local courts will have jurisdiction.
