Teetotal Santa on the Yorkshire Water this Christmas

Forget sherry, forget milk, it's water Santa is asking us to leave out for him on Christmas Eve as he delivers presents to the children of Yorkshire.

Yorkshire Water already believes it has the best water in the country, if not the world, and it turns out Santa agrees.

Santa's a very busy man at this time of year, but we managed to catch up with him to find out why he's planning on changing his tipple to water whilst visiting the region.

Santa told us, "Mrs. Claus has had concerns for a while about my expanding waist line. She fears this is the year I might actually get stuck up the chimney. So, having heard how superior the water is in Yorkshire, she's calling for the good people of the county to leave me a glass of water to wash my mince pie down with, instead of the usual sherry.

"It's also important that I stay hydrated on such a long journey and don't over-do it on the festivities. Rudolph has always been quite partial to a drop of Yorkshire Water too and you can't argue with that!"

When Mrs. Claus was out of earshot, Santa added, "Of course, the occasional tot of whiskey with a good splash of Yorkshire Water would help to keep me warm whilst flying over Yorkshire's stunning countryside."

So, when you're putting out treats for Santa on Christmas Eve, spare a thought for his waist line and leave him a glass of Yorkshire Water. 'Course it's better!
