Emergency repairs on Cartworth Road, HD9

In August 2017, we replaced some of the water pipes on Cartworth Road. You may be aware that there was a burst last weekend and after further investigation another water pipe has been found to be in poor condition. We will need to carry out some emergency work to help prevent this happening again.

We want to complete this work before the Christmas period. As the road is very narrow with a school nearby we’ve liaised with the Highways Department who have instructed us to carry out this work on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th December.

To work as quickly and safely as possible we’ll need to close Cartworth Road between The Royds and the junction with Cartworth Bank Road; a fully signed diversion will be in place.

Access for residents within the closure will be maintained but we ask that residents are patient as there may be times the road is temporarily blocked with our machinery.

When we connect the new section of pipework water supplies to some properties will need to be interrupted. If your property is affected you will receive a warning card from us. If you have any specific circumstances or need a constant supply of water please let us know as soon as possible by requesting a call back from our customer services team. We’ll do everything we can to keep any interruption as short as possible.

We shouldn’t need to access any properties, so before letting anyone into your home, always makes sure you ask for identification.

We apologise for the short notice and having to work at the weekend. We will try to keep disruption to a minimum.
