Land entry principles

The purpose of these documents is to identify and provide Yorkshire Water’s endorsement of the best practices principles agreed between the Industry and its stakeholders in respect of the exercise of statutory land entry powers.

Water supply and sanitation are vitally important public health activities that led to the granting of statutory powers for Water and Sewerage Companies to access and work in private land.

These principles were developed to provide Industry commitment that the exercise of those statutory land entry powers would be appropriate and in line with best practice.

In exercising our land entry rights, Yorkshire Water will adhere to the Code of Practice as part of powers as a Statutory Water undertaker.
