Sewer repairs in Bolling Road, Ilkley LS29

We've been working since early January 2017 to repair a sewer in Bolling Road, Ben Rhydding.

Last year a sewer, which runs under Bolling Road, was damaged by another company whilst they carried out work. Our contract partners, Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), are working to replace the section of damaged pipe which is near to the junction with Wheatley Lane.

Traffic lights will be in operation on Bolling Road for the duration of the repairs so work can be carried out safely.

Update: March 2017

We’d like to thank local residents for your continued patience with the sewer repairs along Bolling Road. The repair has been challenging to complete due to the severity of the damage and the close proximity of pipes and cables from other utilities.

We're aware that at times there has been a lack of visual site activity. Behind the scenes we're having to carry out complex additional design works as the site team encounter more and more damage. Safety of the on-site team and the public is our priority but please be assured we're doing everything we can to complete the work as quickly as possible.

The repairs are now going to take until the first week of May to complete. We're really sorry about this delay; we know this work is disruptive to local residents, businesses and road-users but it's important we get this sewer repaired.

The three-way traffic lights have now been reduced to a two-way set up which should ease the traffic disruption. The lights will still be manned at peak times.

The team have now crossed over Bolling Road and will continue along the north side of the road in the parking bay areas. The parking bays in front of the businesses will be opened up as soon as possible.
