Paying your bill

It’s challenging times for everyone at the moment and the last thing we’d want is anyone worrying about how they’ll pay their water bill.

If your circumstances have changed and you’re struggling to pay your bill, or you’re concerned you might struggle in the future, please don’t worry.

We always aim to tailor our services to what is best for our customers' individual circumstances. We may be able to look at payment breaks or different ways of spreading payments, helping customers manage changing circumstances.

Need to pay your bill? Our payment options make it easy. Choose the one that's best for you.

  1. Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay and you’ll be able to choose when you make payments. If you pick monthly you can choose the day of the month when we collect your payment.

  2. You can pay your bill online. To do this, you’ll need:

    Your customer reference number

    You can find this at the top of your last bill, letter or statement that we sent you. It begins with a 1,2,3,4 or 5 and is a long number.​

    Your debit or credit card

    You can pay with a debit card (Solo, Maestro, Visa and Delta) or by credit card (Visa and MasterCard).

  3. You can make payments through your online or telephone banking.

    These payments should be made to our Head Office Collection account, quoting your customer reference number. You can find this at the top of your last bill, letter or statement that we sent you. It begins with a 1,2,3,4 or 5 and is a long number.

    The account sort code is 57-49-55. If you need a bank account number, please quote 11111111.

  4. If you’d like to change the way you pay, we’ve got different options to help you. Direct Debit is the easiest way to pay. You can also pay through your own bank or using our payment card at a PayPoint or Post Office.

    Just complete our form with your details and we’ll be in touch. You’ll need your customer reference number from your bill or statement.

  5. Please make your cheque payable to Yorkshire Water and write your customer reference number on the back.

    There are two ways you can pay by cheque:

    At a bank

    Sign and date your payment slip and enclose it with your payment or hand it to the cashier.

    By Post

    Send your cheque with the payment slip to:

    Yorkshire Water, PO Box 52, Bradford, BD3 7YD.

    Please don’t send cash or post-dated cheques.
