Sewer upgrade works in Conisbrough

Work is now underway to upgrade the local sewer system in Conisbrough. Work involves building a new manhole chamber and laying a new sewer in the grass verge and the road between Sheffield Road and Lime Grove.

Yorkshire Water’s ‘Wipesaur’ dinosaur on the prowl in Sheffield to highlight the pre-historic practise of flushing wet wipes down toilets

Yorkshire Water is sending out an eight-foot tall ‘Wipesaur’ dinosaur mascot to pound the streets of Sheffield to help educate residents about the problems wet wipes can cause to their local sewer system.

3,000 trees planted at Corn Hey in Holme

3,000 trees have been planted at Corn Hey in the village of Holme with help from local community organisations to provide a natural flood barrier and improve the local environment of the area for future generations.

Yorkshire Water issues multi-million pound IT and software tender

Yorkshire Water are looking for IT goods and services providers to collaborate on IT Infrastructure, along with Software Asset Management (SAM). 

In respect of IT Infrastructure, YWS intends to implement a multi-vendor framework, worth in the region of £61-£67m. This framework is intended for three years, with the possibility of a three-year extension, followed by a two-year extension.

Leeds customers pledge to stop flushing ‘flushable’ wipes

Over 99% of Leeds customers surveyed, who previously flushed wipes down the toilet, have vowed never to do so again after finding out the potential disgusting consequences.
