The recent spell of hot weather has made Yorkshire’s water use rocket.100 million extra litres of water were used every day over the sweltering weekend of 17 and 18 June, meaning the water needed was 15% more than normal.

Tree “thinning” on 100 hectares of Washburn Valley

Work is underway to remove some trees from the woodlands in the Washburn Valley. We carry out the work every ten years to maintain the diversity of the woodland and make sure enough light is getting to the forest floor so species such as bluebells can still thrive.

New water main to be laid in Seacroft

Local residents and commuters in Seacroft should expect some short-term disruption as from Monday 19th June we will be installing almost two thousand metres of new water main to ensure customers’ water supplies are not affected by new housing developments in the area.
