Kelda 10k at Swinsty Reservoir pulls in record number of participants and raises over £5k for WaterAid

The annual Kelda 10k run has been hailed as a huge success after 179 runners completed the course at Swinsty Reservoir on Sunday, helping to raise £5,500 for Yorkshire Water’s charity partner, WaterAid.

Thermal Hydrolysis Plant in Bradford generates record amount of electricity

Helicopter airlifts bags of cut heather onto moor to restore peatland

As part of a €16million project to restore bare patches of peatland across the South Pennines, 390 giant bags of cut heather have been airlifted onto the moor above Deanhead reservoir, near Scammonden.

Public urged to switch to reusable water bottles as concerns about plastic pollution increase

Yorkshire Water is urging people to ditch single use plastic water bottles and switch to a reusable water bottle as part of a national day of action to cut plastic pollution on Thursday 27th September.

Refund for customers who used premium rate service

The Phone-Paid Service Authority (“PSA”) has upheld a complaint by Yorkshire Water that customers who were charged by a call connection service to call Yorkshire Water are entitled to a refund.

Farmers asked to trial alternatives to metaldehyde slug pellets

Yorkshire Water is calling on farmers on land near the rivers Derwent, Wiske and Ouse to manage the use of slug control pesticides carefully to reduce the impact they could have on tap water quality.

‘Pizza slice’ style lid lifted into place at £6 million flood storage tank in Goole

A massive 10 metres deep and 20 metres wide storage tank that will protect 27 homes in the Attlee Drive area of Goole from flooding has reached a milestone with a ‘pizza slice’ style lid now lifted into place.
