Yorkshire Water starts fun initiative to tackle flooding

Yorkshire Water is starting an exciting new flood reduction project called “Soak it up”, an approach to naturally collect rainwater in different ways to help reduce the amount of water that finds its way into the firm’s networks of pipes and sewers.

‘Acoustic ears’ used to plug leaky pipes in Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield

Over 600 ‘acoustic ears’ have been fitted to Yorkshire Water’s underground water pipe network in Bradford, Halifax and Huddersfield in a bid to reduce the volume of water lost through leaks.

As Spring arrives take the lead during lambing season

As spring arrives and lambing season continues across the Dales, Yorkshire Water is urging dog owners to keep their pets on leads whilst on their land.

The firm states that even if your dog is generally docile they can cause extreme distress to sheep when unleashed off their lead.

Fish to scale new heights in the Little Don River to mark World Fish Migration day

Trout for the first time in over a century will be able to swim upstream to breeding waters at the top of the Little Don River thanks to a new ‘fish highway’ now completed and formally opened at Langsett reservoir.
