Wetherby water main to be diverted for Bellway Homes development

We are warning residents in Wetherby to expect some short-term disruption on Spofforth Hill as we divert a water main to enable the planned Bellway Homes development to go ahead.

Our contractor, Morrisons Utility Services, will work on the road between 30 May and 4 June to divert the water main, in a project paid for by the developer.

For safety reasons, three-way temporary traffic lights will be installed on the road and manned from 6.30am until 6.30pm to minimise disruption.

Yorkshire Water project manager Josh Thackray said: “We appreciate there may be some disruption to local people as we carry out this essential work. We’ve worked hard to keep any affects to a minimum and our contractors will carry out the work as quickly and professionally as possible.

“I’d like to thank people in advance for bearing with us during these few days.”

The work has been planned during the Spring Bank half term and over the weekend in order to keep the impact on traffic to a minimum.

Customers with any queries about the scheme can call our Customer Service Team on 0344 848 1099 (Monday to Thursday 8am to 5.30pm and 8am to 5pm on Friday).
