Sewer upgrade works in Conisbrough

Work is now underway to upgrade the local sewer system in Conisbrough.

Work involves building a new manhole chamber and laying a new sewer in the grass verge and the road between Sheffield Road and Lime Grove.

Our contract partners Barhale and JMC will be doing this work for us and it will be carried out in 2 phases taking about nine weeks to complete.

Phase 1: 15 April 2019 to 5 May 2019

The new manhole will be built in Lime Grove and a new section of sewer will be laid from the manhole towards the grass verge.

To complete this phase as quickly as possible we will work 7 days a week from 7.30am to 7.30pm.

We’ve liaised with Doncaster Highways Department and to be able to work safely we need to close a section of Sheffield Road close to the junctions of Kearsley Lane and Ellershaw Road. Access will be maintained to properties; however, parking will be restricted on the road where we’re working.

To comply with the traffic diversion issued by Doncaster Highways Department, Sheffield Road will also be closed from the junction with Micklebring Grove to the car park of The Hilltop Hotel.

Road closures and traffic diversions will be clearly marked with advance signs throughout our work.

Businesses will be trading as usual, so we would ask that you continue to support them during the work.

Phase 2: 6 May 2019 to 16 June 2019

During this phase we will be working in the road, footway and grass verge. Working hours will be from 7.30am to 5.30pm; whilst we are working we will need to use 2-way traffic lights, these will be removed each day at 5.30pm.

This work won’t affect local water and waste water services, and we don’t need access to any properties. Before letting anyone in, please make sure you ask for identification.
