Yorkshire Water lends a hand at Parklands Primary

A team of volunteers from Yorkshire Water were on hand at Parklands Primary School to carry out some much-needed maintenance on the school.

Over 30 members of the BSG Programme Delivery Team supported the school by carrying out various projects including painting, gardening and general maintenance. Year 4 pupils were also given a talk about the work the firm does with WaterAid.

Programme Coordinator at Yorkshire Water, Georgina Wilson said: “We felt volunteering at Parklands would be the perfect opportunity for the BSG Programme Delivery team to make a difference and create an encouraging and inviting environment for the pupils to learn and develop in, all while team building.”

Behaviour Support Worker at Parklands Primary School, Anthony Wilkinson, said: “Although the weather was against us, the Yorkshire Water team did not allow it to dampen their enthusiasm for committing to the various projects they will involved in. Every person I spoke to seemed to enjoy being involved with the day regardless of what they were doing. Projects like this have a huge benefit on developing our very large and once unloved school to help create a working space that the pupils can take pride in and helps replicates all the hard work that they do."
