Phase two of work to lay a new water pipe in Otley Road, Harrogate
Yorkshire Water are about to start their second phase of work to lay a new water pipe in Otley Road, Harrogate for new housing developments in the local area.
From Monday 2 July work will start just west of the RHS Harlow Carr to install the new pipe towards Beckwithshaw. The work will be completed by Yorkshire Water’s partners Morrison Utility Services and will take 4 months to complete.
They’ll be working 7 days a week to get the work completed as soon as possible.
Two way traffic lights will be in operation for the duration of the scheme and will be in operation 24 hours a day. Works will be temporarily suspended over the dates of the Great Yorkshire Show (10/11/12 July) to help avoid traffic congestion in the Harrogate area.
As they’re laying an additional clean water pipe they are not expecting any water supply interruptions. Should this change they’ll contact any properties which will be affected. Neither Yorkshire water or Morrisons Utility Services colleagues will need access in to anyone’s property. Always ask for identification before letting anyone in to your property.
Communications Advisor, Mark Allsop, comments: “We’re aware that we’ve completed a lot of work the area and hope that customers bear with us whilst we complete this next phase of work. We’ve liaised closely with the local highways department to minimise disruption as much as possible. The two way traffic lights will be operator controlled between 7am and 7pm to help reduce traffic congestion. ”
