Yorkshire Water supports Brownlee Foundation events

We teamed up with the Brownlee Foundation to hydrate Yorkshire’s next generation of young athletes with bottles of good old Yorkshire Water.

The Brownlee Foundation, founded by Yorkshire’s Olympic champions, the Brownlee Brothers, is committed to giving children all over the UK a positive sporting experience and supporting the development of coaches and teachers in sport, and this was the fourth year of events in their home county.

We supplied the Brownlee Foundation with over 8,500 bottles of water to keep the children hydrated across their week of 5 junior triathlon events last month. The children who took part were from schools in Bradford, Hull and East Riding, York and Leeds. Each child was given a limited edition Yorkshire Water bottle labelled with a quirky message reading “Mrs Brownlee puts it in the boys’ squash” with the aim of encouraging children to drink more water to be like sporting heroes, the Brownlee brothers.

Brownlee Foundation events organiser, Charis Palmer-Smeaton, said: "With just under 4,000 children taking part in our events across the week, we were delighted with the turn out and had a fantastic week. We are very grateful for the support of our sponsors from The Collective Dairy, Yorkshire Tea, Soreen, HUUB, Adidas and, particularly due to the warm weather, the bottles of Yorkshire Water"

We are so proud of the local lads, that we referenced them in our most recent campaign video which celebrates all things Yorkshire. Who else but the Brownlee Brothers!
