Sewer investigation works Bell Lane, Ackworth

Yorkshire Water is about to carry out a survey of the sewers in the Bell Lane area of Ackworth to reduce the risk of sewer flooding.

This will involve the digging of several trial holes in the highway. For safety reasons it will be necessary to close the road for vehicles between Moor Top Avenue and Hardaker’s Lane from Monday 12 March 2018 for two weeks. A fully signed diversion will be in place using Hardaker’s Approach and Wakefield Road or Moor Top Avenue to Hardaker’s Lane, see map below.

Communications Advisor, Mark Allsop, comments: “We’ve liaised with the Highways Department and in order to carry out this work safely we’ll need to close this section of the road. We'd like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank everyone in advance for their patience whilst this work takes place. Please be assured we'll do everything we can to keep disruption to a minimum and complete the work as quickly as possible."
