Investment in Widdop reservoir

EmbsayWe recently completed a scheme to improve erosion protection on the embankment at Widdop Reservoir near Hebden Bridge.

The work was required to comply with the Reservoir Safety Act 1975.

What are we doing

Our reservoirs contractor, Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) installed drainage and erosion protection to the embankment at Widdop.  You may be aware that during storm conditions water from the reservoir overflows down the embankment - our improvements were required to protect the embankment from erosion when this occurs.

Health and safety is of utmost importance and we needed to close a 285m section of the Pennine Bridleway and footpath over the embankment of the reservoir during our works. We would like to apologise if this caused you any inconvenience on your
