Investment in Brownhill reservoir

EmbsayWe're onsite at Brownhill reservoir carrying out improvements.

The works are required to comply with the Reservoirs Act 1975.

What are we doing?

Our reservoirs contractor Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) will be carrying out the improvements in two phases.

Phase 1 - Tree Clearance Works

Last November, we had to remove some mature trees that had established themselves on the embankment at Brownhill. On completion of the project, we will replace some of these trees.

Phase 2 - Overflow Works

In April, we started work to replace the existing overflow structures at the reservoir. This phase of work will take around six months to complete. In order to carry out this improvement work it will be necessary to temporarily lower the water levels in Yateholme, Riding Wood, Ramsden and Brownhill reservoirs.

If you have any feedback or questions about our improvements at Brownhill please e-mail john.bond@yorkshirewater.co.uk
