Investment at StanleyWe're investing £5 million to increase the capacity of the local sewerage system to reduce the risk of sewer flooding.

A new sewer will be laid from the bottom of Beech Avenue, through the playing fields and under Aberford Road and into our waste water treatments works on Water Lane, off Aberford Road.

We'll start work during week commencing 3rd October and will last around 12 weeks.

The work is part of our £120 million investment to upgrade our sewer network and treatment facilities in order to further reduce the risk of sewer flooding which can occur when sewers become overloaded during times of heavy rainfall.

The investment will benefit hundreds of customers across the region who might otherwise have been at potential risk from sewer flooding and serve to reduce the likelihood of sewer flooding in the region during storm conditions.

Below is the programme of work -
