Pasture Terrace

Investment at StanleyWe're investing £650,000 to help improve Beverley's sewerage system by increasing its ability to handle surface water.

In 2007 much of the area around North Bar became impassable due to the high volumes of rainfall. The local sewerage system was unable to cope with such large amounts of surface water.

We aim to take the pressure off the local sewerage system by installing a large tank at the corner of Pasture Terrace and York Road. Once constructed, this tank will be capable of storing more than 800 cubic metres of water during heavy rainfall. New pipes will also be laid and some existing pipes re-lined to improve the condition of the existing sewerage system.

We'll start work in early January and it will take approximately six months to complete. We hope that work won't be too disruptive; however some work will be undertaken in the carriageway along Pasture Terrace which will require some local traffic management.
