Wheldrake
The risk of pollution incidents or loss of water supplies to customers in North Yorkshire is set to be further reduced this month as we launch our latest phase of our £58 million programme to upgrade or replace hundreds of our sewage, clean water and raw water pumping stations across the region.
What we're doing
As part of this programme, we're installing new pumps, pipework and a kiosk at Courtneys sewage pumping station which is located off Beck Lane in Wheldrake. We'll also be installing a large underground storage tank. The project will improve the performance of the pumping station and reduce the risk of pollution incidents in the local beck.
This is due to start on 10 October and is expected to take 10 - 12 weeks to complete. During this time you may see additional traffic and personnel in the area. You may also notice some noise related to our work.
