Ingbirchworth
We're investing £1.8 million to improve Ingbirchworth reservoir and clean water treatment works.
Our work at the reservoir is progressing well and the crest wall improvements are now finished. This means that we have been able to re-open Annat Royd Lane, and we would like to thank local residents for their patience whilst we completed this section of the project. Improvements to the spillway are still underway and we expect to complete this phase by the middle of August. We will then reinstate the area and hope to leave the reservoir site altogether by early October this year.
Following investigations at the waste water treatment works, it has been agreed that the facility at Ingbirchworth does not have the capacity to cope with the increasing population of the village. As such, it has been decided to abandon the treatment works on Huddersfield Road and construct a new facility on land adjacent to the site.
The combination of improvement projects in the area represent a £10 million investment in Ingbirchworth's clean and waste water, ensuring an excellent standard for years to come.
