Walk this way
We teamed up with walking author and broadcaster Mark Reid to launch a long-distance walk. The walk covers a 103-mile route from Kettlewell in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales to Langsett on the very edge of the Peak District - linking our land and reservoirs along the way.
Split into two books, Mark's written guide provides a fascinating insight into some of the folklore and points of interest along the way - as well as trusted tips on where to stop for a pint of Yorkshire's finest ales, renowned local food and some of the most welcoming hotels and guest houses which can be used as stop-overs.
Volume 1 - This three day route starts at Kettlewell before heading over Great Whernside into Upper Nidderdale, through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, along the shores of Gouthwaite to Pateley Bridge and on through the Washburn Valley to Ilkley.
Volume 2 - The four-day section of the long-distance route starts from Ilkley, before pressing on through Bronte country around Haworth, the hills above Holmfirth made famous by TV's Last of the Summer Wine and on to the finishing point at Langsett on the edge of the Peak District in South Yorkshire.
