New Rishworth Moor Walk
We've announced details of a new circular walk aimed at providing walkers with easy access to some of the region's most breath-taking moorland scenery.
Details of the new 10km route, which starts at Ryburn reservoir near Halifax, can be found on the company's website along with some helpful tips.
The route, which takes walkers high into the Pennine moors above the Ryburn Valley, is recommended for experienced ramblers, as parts of it are at high altitude and demand good compass reading skills. It is estimated that the walk will take around three hours to complete.
Since 2003, we've been, in partnership with Natural England and Moors For The Future, has invested a significant amount of time and money on a programme of initiatives to restore large swathes of Yorkshire moorland which had previously suffered damage as a result of 200 years of pollution, wildfires and over-grazing. As a result of this work, areas such as Rishworth Moor - badly damaged in the fires of 2008 - are now well on their way to once again becoming some of the most ecologically important land in the UK.
