How to pay your bill

PayPoint SignThere are plenty of ways and places where you can pay your water bill.

Take your pick from the following.

Paying by Debit or credit card

You can to pay your water bill by debit or credit card.

Alternatively, you can pay your bill by calling us on 0345 1 24 24 24 (between 8am-8pm Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm on Saturday) or using our automated bill payment service by phoning 0345 1 247 247 (available 24 hours a day).

Paying by Direct Debit

The easiest way to pay your bill is by Direct Debit. Contact us on 0345 1 24 24 24 with your bank account details or use our secure online form.

Paying by instalments

If your charges are based on the rateable value of your property - i.e. you don't have a water meter and your bill is based on the size of your home, the number of rooms you have, your amenities and location - you can pay your water bill in 8 instalments on the 10th or 25th of the month.

If you have a meter or receive an assessed or fixed charge, you can pay on a payment plan - up to 12 instalments on or between the 1st and the 28th of the month, or the last day of the month.

Paying by cheque

You can pay your water bill by cheque by sending it to us or by popping into your nearest Local Authority office or bank. Here's how you can pay by cheque:

Please tear off the payment slip on your bill, make your cheque payable to Yorkshire Water and send it to:

Payment can be made free of charge at any of the following Local Authority cash offices. Please make cheques payable to the Local Authority and write your customer reference number, property name or number and postcode on the back.

  • East Riding
  • Kirklees


Bank

Please sign and date the payment slip and hand in the whole bill with your payment at your bank. Cheques should be made payable to Yorkshire Water and your customer reference number needs to be written on the back.

Banks may charge for this service so please check with them first.

PayPoint logo smallPaying by cash

If you'd prefer to pay by cash then you can do this at retail outlets where you see a PayPoint sign.  You don't need to pay a counter fee of you choose to pay in this way.

Home/telephone banking

Please advise your bank to quote head office collection sort code 57-49-55 and your customer reference number, which can be found at the top of your bill.

If your bank requires a bank account number, please ask them to quote 11111111.

Payment card

Payment cards are also available so you can pay by fortnightly or monthly instalments.  The payment card may be used at any Post Office or PayPoint outlet.
