Runners Rehydrated Thanks To Yorkshire WaterWater bottle

Runners who took part in this year's 10km Fountains run on Sunday 25 April were keep rehydrated thanks to Yorkshire Water.

We helped them overcome the gruelling run across the spectacular moorlands of Nidderdale, the company is providing 400 water bottles to runners at the end of the race.

Organised by the Friends of Fountains School in association with Ripon Runners, the race is now in its 12th year and is one of a series of eight 'Black Sheep' races which take place at various locations over the summer.

Over 350 runners took part in the race - the first of the series - with all monies from sponsorship raised going towards improving playground facilities at Fountains Primary School in Grantley, near Ripon.

In addition to supplying the water bottles, we also supplied runners with water at the half way point of the race.

It's a fantastic cause and we were only too happy to help out when the call came.  Running 10km is no easy feat, especially if the warm weather continues, but hopefully the water bottles we'll be giving out will make it just that little bit easier for them.

Wendy Howarth, customer engagement officer

The race is approximately 10km and is run on a one-lap course on public roads and across Nidderdale's moorland.  It will begin in Grantley and finish at Fountains C.E. School, also within the village.
