Tim Williams

Past IT Graduate

The IT Graduate programme has been instrumental in my career to date and has given me opportunities that would not have been possible otherwise.


I joined Yorkshire Water in October 2004 as an IT Trainee and was then successful in my application to join the graduate programme in September 2005. After finishing the programme in September 2007 I started my substantive role in Service Management.

I am currently Supervisor of the IT Service Desk where I manage the day to day running of a team of eight, fielding all IT issues that arise, taking control of performance management and incident management. Within this role I have been an active member of the Service Management team contributing to all parts of the department including, creating a Service Desk vision, organising Business Planning and stream lining process to ensure World Class Customer Service is delivered every time.

When on the graduate programme I had the opportunity to play a role which had a fundamental impact on the business trialling state of the art PDA's for the first time, and which has now been implemented in all areas of field operations. I also project managed two new websites for our sister companies which are still live and completely self managed by the business.

Career, personal development and leadership is taken very serious at Yorkshire Water and with enthusiasm and drive anything is possible.
