My name is Amy Barron and I'm 22 years old. I joined Loop, which is the contact centre for Yorkshire Water in 2003 as a modern apprentice doing a 2 year course in customer management, which I passed in 2004. I also did a key skills course in Maths, English and IT.
I found out about the apprentice scheme through a Yorkshire Water employee. I was also informed by several other people about the great benefits of working here. The scheme also appealed to me because you're learning and working at the same time.
The work life balance definitely helps individuals and there are some good rewards if you work hard and meet your targets.
There's a wide range of opportunities here. As well as developing key skills, opportunities with Yorkshire Water arise all the time giving you the chance to progress your career.
I really enjoy my role - you're always given the chance to learn new things as well as manage your own workload. I am now classed as an experienced member of my team and have a wide degree of knowledge.
