Here at Yorkshire Water we recruit people into a wide variety of different roles and we use different techniques, depending on the position, to make sure that we get the best person for the job. As part of the recruitment process you might be asked to participate in one or more of the areas below:
Competency based interviews
If you are asked to attend an interview, you will be given a selection of competency based questions to explore your experience against the criteria listed for the role. You will also have the chance to ask us some questions about the role,
the culture , the
work environment, or any other area of interest to you. It is also a great opportunity for you to provide specific examples that demonstrate your skills and experience.
Assessment centres
You may be invited to attend an assessment centre. At these events you will be asked to participate in a range of activities which may include a group exercise, a competency based interview, a presentation and/or a test. The purpose of the recruitment event is to help us to assess your skills, values and behaviours. This is very much a two-way process so you can get to know the company, so don't worry, we're not trying to catch you out on anything.
You will meet a variety of people from around the business as well as with other candidates. Some of these people will be assessing your potential during the event. Some could even be future colleagues.
Testing
At some point during the recruitment process you may be invited to complete psychometric or personality tests which are designed to understand your ability, personality, skills and capabilities.
