Your support on our graduate programme
We recognise how challenging our graduates programme is so we offer lots of support throughout.
Here are some examples of people who you can turn to for support throughout your development.
Your graduate buddy
From the time when you are offered a place on the programme you'll be assigned a graduate buddy. They will be in the year above you on the scheme, in the same business area and will be available to answer all your questions both before and after you join - about any aspect of the scheme from a personal perspective.
Your mentor
At your induction you'll be introduced to a manager from a different part of the group who will be your mentor throughout the two year programme. They will help you see things from a different perspective to your own and provide a confidential environment to discuss your personal development.
Your sponsoring manager
You'll have met them through the
selection process and they will be your champion throughout the scheme. They are senior managers who are responsible for all aspects of the programme for their business area. They meet with you regularly to discuss your progress and
placements as well as your future aspirations (as these develop!) They conduct your performance reviews as well as your
salary review discussions.
Your line manager (and placement manager)
Day to day your managers will help you focus your work on projects and activities that benefit both you and the business. They give you and your Sponsoring Manager feedback throughout your placements.
Your Learning and Development contact
Every 3 months you have a review meeting with your contact who will coach, support and challenge you throughout the scheme. They coordinate the programme of development events and provide a link to any further development of the
programme.
And you'll find that you soon become close to your fellow graduates and they will be a real source of support as well.
