We've collected a prestigious Silver Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice for our rainwater harvesting system from the House of Commons.
The awards which are run by The Green Organisation recognise, reward and promote best practice around the world. Our rainwater recycling system demonstrates our continued commitment to the environment.
Installing the rainwater harvesting system at our head office in Bradford has enabled us to gain a thorough understanding of how the technology works, which means we can share some of our learnings with you.
The system works by collecting filtered rainwater from the roof of one of our buildings and storing it in a tank above ground. The water is then UV filtered and pumped into the building and used to significantly reduce the amount of mains water needed for flushing toilets in the entire building.
We use the flow monitoring system to monitor our own water consumption.
