Education Centres Get Seal Of Approval
Our three interactive education centres have received a national accreditation from the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom (LOtC) commending both the quality of teaching and learning experiences at the centres.
LOtC, which aims to help provide young people with opportunities to experience learning away from the classroom environment, awards suitable organisations with a quality badge to enable teachers to find locations where their children can learn away from school.
Our free education centres in Headingley, Bradford and Sheffield have been developed with the help of school teachers to cover the core elements of National Curriculum Key Stage Two including numeracy, literacy, geography, science and of course water.
Children visiting both the clean water education centres in Sheffield and Headingley and the waste water education centre in Bradford are able to gain hands-on learning experiences. From conducting experiments to understand the impact of tipping things like fats down sinks, to learning about saving water and taking tours around the actual treatment works, children really do get an excellent learning outside the classroom experience.
